Stand Up Comedy Workshop

Whether you’ve ever dreamt of crafting your own stage act from scratch, overcoming your fear of public speaking, or just checking off an item on your bucket list, this is your opportunity to make new friends with your fellow students/comics – or start a new career!

Class size limited to 12.

Fee $200, includes five classes of group instruction, plus additional private consultation with the instructor and professional performers.

Meet the Teachers

MICHAEL DONOVAN joined Act II in 2012. A comedian since he was just 14, Mike inaugurated the Playhouse’s stand-up comedy shows in 2012, and has facilitated workshops and classes for Act II, including the popular Stand-up Comedy Workshop. He is a graduate of LaSalle University, with additional certifications from Villanova University and Temple University.

 

 

KIRSTEN MICHELLE CILLS is a full-time comic and actor devoted to bringing humor to everyday life as a terminally ill performer, a woman in comedy, and woman (messily) navigating her 20s in Philadelphia. A Horsham native and graduate of The University of the Arts in the heart of Philadelphia, Kirsten has starred in a variety of plays and musicals, been a finalist in Helium Comedy’s Philadelphia’s Phunniest Competition, and has recently finished co-creating and starring in upcoming sitcom Terminally Chill.
