Accessibility

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Act II Playhouse is dedicated to providing all patrons with the necessary measures to allow for a comfortable and enjoyable theatrical experience.

Entrance

The entrance to the Box Office and the Theatre are through the front door at 56 East Butler Avenue. Patrons must climb 5 steps to climb from the entrance lobby to the theatre. For those who cannot climb steps, Act II has an elevator that can take patrons to the theatre level as well as to the top floor, where restrooms, the upper lobby and offices are located. Wheelchair accessibility to the theatre is also possible through a side exit door that leads to a ramped aisle in the theatre. Arrangements to use this method of entry must be made in advance by calling the Box Office at 215-654-0200, as this side door is an emergency exit with no external access.

Assistive Listening Devices

Listening devices for the hearing impaired are available for all performances to assist with amplification and clarity. A radio-transmitted receiver and lightweight headset that amplifies the sound on stage is used for those with low to moderate hearing loss who may or may not use a hearing aid. This device can be used in all sections of the theatre. Use of a listening device is complimentary. A driver's license or major credit card is required as deposit. The devices are located in the Box Office and are available by contacting the House Manager upon entering the Playhouse.

Sign-Interpreted Services

The Playhouse can arrange for sign-interpreted performances upon request. Patrons should contact the Box Office no later than two weeks prior to the performance, so that proper arrangements may be made.

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are found on the upper level of the Playhouse and are open during all performances and whenever the lobbies are open. There is a handicapped restroom for patrons with wheelchairs and walkers. A water fountain is available nearby, and our staff is available to assist with further directions.

Parking

The Theatre does not operate any parking facility. Metered spaces (free in the evening and on Sundays/Holidays) are located in the municipal lot off of Cavalier Drive, in addition to free street parking on select side streets and a larger municipal lot behind Ambler Savings Bank.
