A truly original musical, John & Jen explores the complexities of relationships between brothers and sisters, parents and children, set against the background of a changing America between 1950 and 1990.  "Lippa and Greenwald's...characters are so masterfully creafted that they almost instantly find their way into the audience's collective heart." The Pride of Parnell Street

by Sebastian Barry
directed by Harriet Power

pridethumb.jpgMarch 22 - April 17, 2011

Italy 1 - Ireland 0...The score that marked Ireland's demoralizing exit from the 1990 World Cup took its toll on many Dubliners - especially Janet and Joe Brady, who lost far more than the match that night. In two poignant, interweaving monologues, Janet and Joe reveal the intimacies of their love and the rupture of their marriage as well as their affection for Ireland's most famous city. An intimate, heroic tale of life on the streets of Dublin by one of Ireland's greatest living playwrights. Ireland's Sunday Independent calls Sebastian Barry's play "quiveringly beautiful...quite simply magnificent." *The Pride of Parnell Street has been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Theatre Initiative.

Art

by Yasmina Reza
translated by Christopher Hampton
directed by Bud Martin

art thumb.jpgMay 10 - June 5, 2011

How would you feel if your best friend did something so colossally unfathomable that it made you doubt the very basis of the friendship? When an art lover buys a painting for a very expensive sum, his best friend goes ballistic. A third is pulled into their wrangling, and battle lines are drawn. By turns funny and explosive, Yasmina Reza (author of the Broadway hit God of Carnage) crafts a sly, reveling portrait of what men expect from their friends - and themselves. Newsweek calls this Tony Award-winning international smash hit "a nonstop cross-fire of crackling language, serious issues of life and art expressed in outbursts that sound like Don Rickles with a degree from the Sorbonne."
